Sleipnir 3 for Mac (3.1.1) released! Memory usage cut by over 50% for lighter operations! [Additional Notes]

[Additional Notes] We have released 3.1.1.1 at 16:00 (Japan Time) which fixed some problems of 3.1.1 such as not being able to import bookmarks from Safari and Google Chrome.

Once again we have a new release, this time with the latest version of Sleipnir 3 for Mac Web browser(3.1.1). In this version we have greatly reduced the memory usage, so even if you use it for long periods of time it does not slow down. We have also included some other improvements as well.

Memory usage greatly reduced for lighter operations.

Up until now, Sleipnir has used quite a lot of machine memory and its operation sometimes got heavier as you use. But we have succeeded in greatly reducing the memory usage in the latest release. We really have cut the memory usage by over 50%, creating an application that is kind to your Mac.

As even if you use it for long periods of time, operations will not slow down, please feel free to keep using it without closing it for as long as you wish.

It uses about this much memory after being started up.

Even if you use it a lot for many different tasks it still stops at a standard amount. Of course it varies depending on how you use it, but the memory has definitely been reduced a level. Other browsers usually break up the processes, but if you total them up you will find that it comes to about the same amount.

As a result, some of those sites you previously had problems viewing can be viewed properly. If you have any other pages which you can not view properly, please let us know from the following form.

Close other tabs

We have added the new operation called leave this tab open, and close all other tabs. After you have finished viewing pages, you can tidy everything up in one shot with this function. You can also use this function to search for something and only leave the one desired result at the end.

For the close tab button, just click while holding down option. You can also perform the same operation with Command + Option + W.

Open PDFs with Sleipnir

You can open PDFs in Sleipnir tabs. Even if there is a PDF link, you can check it out just like that.

It’s not just the appearance, but also the operability that has become smarter, making Sleipnir 3 for Mac a much more powerful browser. Please give it a go!
