Sleipnir 3 for Windows offers powerful tab-browsing with a rich selection of customizable options.
Today, I would like to introduce how you can customize the way tabs are displayed and operated by changing the tab settings.
If you are not using the latest version, please download it from the Sleipnir 3 for Windows product page.
Tabs can be managed and displayed in many different ways.
You can access the tab options by going to [Tools > Customize > Appearance > Tab].
Recently closed pages
Changed the history count of recently close pages to an amount of your choice.
Firstly, you can change the way tabs are activated.
Check or uncheck these options to change the specific areas of tabs to suit the way you use them.
You can also change the position, width, height and style of tabs.
Position: Display tabs at the top, bottom, left or right of the browser window.
Width: How long tabs are when not shrunk.
Height: How tall tabs appear. You can make tabs really stand out if you increase the height.
Shrink – Keeps tabs in one line and shrinks them when there is limited space.
Multi-lines – displays tabs over multiple-lines when space runs out on one line.
Options for [Save snapshot of open tabs] and [Restore tabs on start up].
Setting [restore tabs on start up] to [Do not restore] can be very helpful for users with slower computers who have a tendency to leave many tabs open.
Add and remove tabs
Choose where tabs are positioned when newly added, and which tabs is switched to when you have close the tab you are viewing.
Enable/disable the thumbnail popup preview that appears when hovering over a tab.
This changes the settings for what your mouse does when clicking on tabs.
The default settings are as below:
Left double click: Protect tabs
Right click: Popup menu
Wheel click: Close
However, you can change the settings to how you want it to be.
In addition to the actions above, the following are also available: refresh, back and tablet change.
And that is the end to my guide to effectively using tabs in Sleipnir 3 for Windows.
There are many more tab features available and many more to be added.
I hope to introduce these other features in the near future.
