Have you tried out the alpha 3 version of Sleipnir 3 for Windows with support for WebKit which we released recently?
There are many things that I should make clear about our road map, but let me first start off by explaining about the huge development that is underway for Sleipnir.
If I jump straight to the point, Sleipnir 3 for Windows and Sleipnir 3 for Mac will be reborn under a new concept. Sleipnir 3 for Windows / Mac with new functions, and a new sense of practicality and innovation should be available for everybody to try next month.
So let me introduce just what exactly this concept is.
We recently started recruiting volunteer translators for all versions of Sleipnir. The response we have received is amazing, and we are very thankful. We have already added support for many new languages, but we still have many more people out there who we would like to introduce our Web browser to. To make it easier for translators to translate our software, I have decided to provide an easy to understand guide to translating our software.
Today, we have released Sleipnir 3 for Windows α3！
Even though it is named as α3, it is very stable in comparison with the α2 version. There may be some functions that are yet to be fully implemented such as TouchPaging, but basic tab browsing is now possible!
“Sleipnir? Is that English? How do you pronounce Sleipnir?”
This is the reaction our Web browser has been met with from time to time.
First off, let me confirm that “Sleipnir” is not of English origin. It is a horse from Norse mythology. Norse is a word referring to something of Norway.
The word has been used in myths and poems in the North of Europe for many centuries. You may have heard of the word in popular media such as in Final Fantasy VII where Odin is riding Sleipnir.
Today, we have released the latest version of the Web browser – Sleipnir 3 for Mac (3.4)! In this latest version, we have made radical changes to the display for looking through tabs at a glance – TiledTab! Now you can group by site for never seen before easy to find tabs.
Please read on below for further information about the new TiledTab providing probably the fastest way to find tabs.
The latest iPhone / iPad version for the Sleipnir Mobile Web browser was released last Thursday, May 3rd (1.9.2). It includes improvements to the reliability of operations and a fix to the issue where some buttons would be empty for certain languages.
Please update to the latest version.
